Martha Stewart is 81 years old, but she shows that age doesn’t matter.
She showed off her great body in ten different outfits. She called it a “historic moment” for her and other older women.
Stewart looked sure of herself and poised while being photographed by the famous Ruven Afanador in the beautiful Punta Cana area of the Dominican Republic. When she was asked about it, she said she doesn’t really think about her age, but being on the cover at her age was a “big deal.”
Stewart said, “Age is not the determining factor in terms of friendship or success. What people do, how they think, and how they act are what’s important, not your age.”
Stewart has been in the public eye a lot because she is a best-selling author and the host of two national TV shows. She did say, though, that modeling for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit was hard, but she was excited to do it.
Stewart said that getting fit and living a healthy life gave her confidence in front of the camera. As part of her preparation for the shot, she said she stopped eating bread and pasta and did Pilates every other day.
Stewart made fun of the fact that they felt “odd” standing in swimsuits in front of everyone, but she said it was “OK” in the end. Her historic cover shoot shows how committed she is to living a healthy, happy life. It’s an example for women of all ages.
